BEING HUMAN NORTH AMERICA 2x05 - ADDICTED TO LOVE
- Oh boo the flashbacks haven’t stopped…
- AIDAN & Princess’ sexy times are not very sexy, to be honest. And Aidan, I know you need to eat something to survive but you are weak :( I want you to find a solution right about soon. A solution that doesn’t harm people.
- SALLY in this episode: so many cringeworthy moments! I’m always embarrassed for her, hahaha. But I *love* this plot.
- I generally love this series better now it’s its own thing. Haters gonna hate but I love it in its own right!
- NORA, I am so confused by what you want.
- JOSH why are you bouncing all over the place? :(
- These people are having too much of sexytimes with other people and not enough happytimes with each other. That said, I love the little morning-banter. Love. it.
- When, when, when will those intro-talks stop; for the love of all that is bloody?!
- :< What’s wrong with “froyo”?
- Aidan’s faces. Love love love love.
- I don’t get where Aidan and Princess are, when they are all naked and weirdly positioned. I also still can’t follow their conversation first time around. [Have had this problem with the storyline from the beginning. All these names and things whispered, well, I can’t follow. It took me ages to find out her bloody name!] And they have a bell. Ok??!
- Sally Sally Sally. You have let the Reaper loose. Tsk tsk tsk.
- I really wanted Josh to apologise. I also wanted him to break down and re-evaluate his decisions.
- “Don’t ground me!” has so much more depth to it now. Ha!
- I’m glad we finally know what the whole thing was about. Now can we put that behind us and have more of Henry’s lovely face? :>
- PURE BREDS ARE STILL BAD NEWS. Wolves also shit in woods and sleep naked.
- I want Henry/Aidan. I would totally ship it. I might already ship it.
- AND I SAW THAT BISHOP IS COMING BACK OOOHHHH YEAAAHHH heeheeeheeeee I can’t wait!
- This episode had some great moments. The kitchen banter, the Sally-in-Janet, Henry/Aidan… But it wasn’t very epic and I’m not sure I like where Nora is going. Josh also needs to have a bit of a redeeming moment. And so does Aidan, he is totally lagging.
- To be honest sometimes it gets very bad but the good news is that when it gets bad, it makes me laugh. [See: CGI werewolves.] So I still love this show.

Mother’s going to be pissed.
BEING HUMAN NORTH AMERICA 2x04 BULLET LIST TIME
- Aidan is definitely much more likeable when he has a bloody face than when he is ravaging through the house looking like a lunatic. WHY?! I hate drunks.
- Sally is adorable and I love her floating about, not sulking at home. YAY!
- The doctor was not cute though.
- NIIIICK! HE CAME BACK! And then he broke Sally’s heart and also mine. “So you’d rather relive your death every single day than date me?” YEAH NICK, HARSH :<
- Zoe is such a weird character, I am still not sure if I like her. And now she has taken Nick, so I’m definitely not jumping on her team anytime soon.
- Where was Nora? Boooooooo.
- Instead we get these two crazies from crazyville. All blond and white and “pure blood” and oooooh, what a concept. I love the concept. I love the plot twist. I don’t love the execution. I hope they get better in some way or another.
- Aidan, can we stop it with the silly antics in your flashbacks?! I can’t focus on your dialogue when all I think is “moustache. moustache. moustache. Wait what is your accent?” and I’m pretty sure the dialogue is important?!
- BUT ALAS I HAVE NOT UNDERSTOOD A THING
- Other vampire was cuuuuuute as, though. If you didn’t have that weird moustache, I’d totally ship you two together.
- Princess [Imma just call her that, ok?] is getting less on my nerves, but, as some other people pointed out, how does tattoo-stuff work in vampire-world? How are they still on you guys’ skin when you heal very fast? How is it acceptable for a woman in the 1930s to have tattoos?
- But holy moly sensual dress-zipping scene! Daaamn.
- I wish, I just really really really wish we had seen Josh sneak out the kid. It would have been so great.
Overall, not a bad episode, but not amazing. I need Aidan to help Sally already, and vice versa. Ok? Ok.
I also need more comedy and bonding time and hugs!!! But for once I am happy that this series is not filled with ANGST AND WOE like its counterpart, because my heart can’t handle it.
Everything is Being Human all the time and nothing hurts.

Being Human North America SEASON 2
episodes 1-3 in a nice bullet list:
- Sometimes the little “opening speeches” just can’t keep my attention. I lose track halfway through because I’m too busy watching epic shit going on.
- Sally can move things! Yay!
- Omtl that little bit when Nora couldn’t see her. Great plot building.
- Ghost kids were a bit annoying. But then I appreciate how hard it is to write non-annoying ghost storylines so. [High school chick was so annoying.] But OMD GHOSTS CAN KILL EACH OTHER?!?
- Vampire council… Ugh, I don’t know. I’m a bit over the whole “vampire power play” storylines, so I’m glad we haven’t seen that much of it in the last episode. But I’m so glad we got to see the actual council and Aidan was epic. Also princess is fiiiine. “Torchwood neck lady” loses to “evil vampire leader” haha.
- Can I express how happy I am, how much I appreciate, that these fine fine characters are talking to each other?! I hated how everyone was off in their own little world in the UK, and they were friends but they couldn’t talk to each other for some dumb reason. Bonding time is goooood!
- I can’t believe I fell for it! I can’t believe for a split second I thought “oh, oh good, oh, she isn’t turned”. But then of course I was glad because she saved Josh’s life.
- Sally, what have you brought upon yourself and the others?? Eeeee.
- Nora is coping surprisingly well. Josh is being exceptionally amazing. There are rough patches but I’m so rooting for them, I hope they get there, although it’s not all right quite yet.
- Julia, Julia, Julia. Did not see that coming. I thought maybe she was going to be a Lucy-type character but oof! Intrigue!
- PS the dark eyes are totally hot I just can’t help it >_>;; And this series has this habit of having me think the dreams are real and I freak out - usually I’m pretty good at this. But uhm, working at a hospital is not a very good idea anymore…
- That storage unit is not very fool-proof u guise, they won’t let you hire those again after you dent all the metal.
- Also! I love love love that they all hang out at the hospital xD amazing. Sally has such amazing lines haha.
- Loved that re-incarnation plot. Glad that she didn’t go through with it :”] Baby Sally would have been so lame. [Oh and that one ghost was also annoying. Though I wanted to see what the ‘interview’ was like.]
- NO WEREWOLF BABY THOUGH :O but yes to hilarious funny sexytimes!
- Aidan!! What are you going to doooo?? It was only a matter of time of course. But you can’t keep drinking from weird old ladies.
I don’t like having to wait! I can’t binge-watch anymore booo.
PS I love their kitchen. I love that storage shelf unit thing on the left, ah it’s amazing.
Being Human North America 1x04-12
Yeah. That’s right. I binge-watched my way through this entire first season because that’s how I deal with bad days. I binge-watch the adventures of three supernaturals. Anyhoo. On to the bullet list!
- Ray… I thought he was a total creeper, but at least he wasn’t mean to Sally. That plot twist with the vampire beating was “awesome, bro”.
- Bridget was annoying, why was she so weak? :< I had high hopes for her. And Danny was certainly less of a dickhead than Owen, with his whole “huhu cheating huhu stare at you” business.
- Bloody vamp times, yay. However I always double take everything Rebecca says. I always think it’s a trick.
- WHY DO THESE THREE NEVER TOUCH EACH OTHER?! I saw someone comment on the lack of hugs. Yes. Okay, the no Sally touching is acceptable but no bromance is not good! NOT GOOD.
- Again, annoyed at vamps having reflections and now they’re also showing up on video >:[
- The ring-thing was cool. The ghost-boyfriend was also cool. I’m sad he left! :<
- PRIEST?!?! Aidan can just walk right into a church?! What is this??
- I miss the comedy. However there are some gold oneliners. :D But there could be a little more comedy?
- Bishop was so. bloody. epic. Perfect villain. I love love love that moment where he was so vulnerable and in love and stuff. Did not see that coming. Amazing.
- However Aidan with his wigs… that will never not crack me up. [I think I have come around to accepting his face and mouth though. :’] interesting information, I know.]
- BERNIEEEEEEE and he was even called Bernie! And oh my I did not see those plot twists coming! Much too short of a time! Loved him, he was adorable. And Aidan was so good with him :’< And the neighbours were less scary. And then the others got involved and it was so epic. And then it got sooo sad. Muuhuhuhu.
- Emily, family… also very, very well done. Loved that plot line. Loved Aidan coming into it. Loved that garlic moment.
- Marcus as a character was well fleshed-out. [heh?] Total creeper. Awesome.
- THE ELDERS ARE DUTCH YEEAAAHHHHHH
- Oh yeah, Josh suddenly transformed in the house in epi 08. A little late, but finally a bit of dynamic between him and Sally. I still feel like we missed his whole story telling moment, but at least we got it with Nora.
- NORA! She has endless patience. She has less of the fierceness of Miss Pickering, but she can stand her own. I’m very interested into seeing what will happen. I thought these writers didn’t see beyond UK series 1 but I guess either werewolf-baby is a trope, or they lied and they did watch more. Anyhoo. Excite excite excite!
- Oh that dog fight thing… Very good spin. I’m not sure what my stance is on the CGI. However the old guy, thought he was a nice touch. Aidan not doing anything got on my nerves though.
- The exorcism. Yes. Zombie Sally. Yes!! I cannot wait for better storylines for Sally.
- Rebecca… I often thought she was ‘off’ but she came through in the end. So long, silly girl. Aidan is also very much established as the best crier. Heartbreaking. George and Aidan, if you ever meet up and have a little cry party I think I will die.
- Bishop had so many tricks up his sleeve oh my oh my oh my! I’m going to miss him. [And I did NOT see that coming! Aaahhh amazing!] However, I feel like we didn’t see enough of his “big plan” to be really scared of it. There wasn’t enough pre-fight anticipation in the house with everyone freaking out over what could happen. There wasn’t enough “I am your leader” blabla going on with Bishop being surrounded by lesser vampires. I also want a vampire couple.
- AIDAN HOW IS IT THAT WHEN YOU STAKE SOMEONE THEY DIE WITHIN THREE SECONDS but when you get staked everyone can freak out for half an hour?!?!
[/yes this also bugged me when you did it, Mitchell]and finally, finally we got a little bromance. Hurraahh! - At first I was annoyed at Aidan being very ‘saying one thing, doing the other’. Then I fell in love with how good he was. And then he did go crazy in that whatever-it-is, getting all blood-drunk. The only thing that annoyed me was that he said he was back, and then the next moment he wasn’t really back. How would the other vampires believe him then?
Aidan is pretty much a good guy, he didn’t even want to turn Bernie, he wouldn’t let Josh kill Bishop… but then again he would kill Danny… [loved that haha!] and oh, Celine was great. I’m really really really anticipating what will happen in next.
All in all, I’m hooked. I love it. I really truly love it when something unexpected happens. I hope this will happen a lot in season 2. I love each of the characters in their own way. I will miss Bishop. I am glad I finally started watching, despite my initial apprehension. I hope many other fans can see the qualities of this version and give it a chance.
[I also hope fans of this version will take a look at the original because it is so very different and so very brilliant.]
Being Human North America 1x03

- AIDAN YOU ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO HAVE A REFLECTION.
- The policeman plot was great. The mind-messing trick is great.
- I like it that Danny isn’t already with this person. I also like it that this person is Sally’s friend. Oooohhh intrigue.
- Can I just say I love the music on this show? Yesssss.
- Gilbert > this guy. [She *is* wearing make up…] “You’re a ghost?” > “You’re a genius?” though. Door-moment, bit eh. But okay, at least Sally is progressing. Yay.
- YAY she gets to leave the house yaaay [bit cheesy, but cutely done. Sally is cute anyway.]
- Neighbourlady you annoy me so much. Also neighbourboy. Won’t be done with them, sigh…
- Aidan your tattoo is ugly.
- And ooohhh you can get staked by random shit and not die? Awesome.
- Choke action! Original plot twist! Oooh! Interesting.
- Vampire show off! You know what I don’t like about Aidan’s face? He looks too Twilight-y in full vampire face.
So since there’s no Revenge I watched 1x02

So here’s another bullet list! Yay.
- This guy. HIS MOUTH. I can’t. However his body… I can.
- I am loving the homoerotic tension with Bishop. I don’t even care if that’s really what it is, or if it’s just vampire tension… It’s hilarious.
- I don’t know why but every time I watch and remember something I want to go back to watching UK version. See how they did it. That’s not really the point of watching a show is it? Hopefully this feeling will go away.
- It’s not a lot of fun to watch ‘exciting moments’ when you already know what is going to happen. I thought this show was going in a different direction, but I guess from what I’ve seen on Tumblr I can brace myself for a lot of repetitive situations. hmpf.
- Aidan’s super strength. I love how this is addressed [bar scene! yay] but in the scene where he rescues Josh’s sister it’s ridiculously badly done and just looks… ridiculous.
- That said JOSH’S TRANSFORMATION BOTHERS ME SO MUCH ugh why is his chest doing the poking out thing? [it looks tacky] I have to admit I really enjoyed that scary bone-breaking-cracking-growing thing they do on the UK version. It also feels longer and more excruciating and realistic… I feel like the ones we’ve seen from Josh so far [that’s a whole three transformations in two episodes!!!] they seem very fast and not as horrific. The scene where George transforms inside the house is very good for setting up that feel, after that yes, you could see less of it or have it go faster but in Josh’s case I think they did it the wrong way around.
- Rebecca sweetie, you have nothing on Lauren. When she confronted Josh, it wasn’t nearly as poetic as when Lauren did it. I don’t think this because I know what’s happening - it’s because Lauren probably had more to work with. Anyhoo.
- There is not enough house bonding time. We still don’t really know how Josh was turned, even though the opening shot sort of shows it. I need him to tell it.
- Sally flying through the air just looked really weird? She’s going face down but she ends up face up? What? What was the point?
- Where is the humorous trio? >:[ not enough of this.
- Also not enough bromance. Hmhm.
- I was rooting for the sister plot because it’s new and different and then it just goes pffffrt.
- Josh calling everyone monsters, it breaks my heart every time.
- I’ve realised Danny looks like Julian from Hellcats and it’s not the same actor! Maybe that’s why he creeps me out? Haha.
… and I just [sort of] rewatched UK pilot and first episode, gee…. TOBY FOR ALL THE AWARDS FOR CREATING SUCH AN EPIC SHOW. But UK first episode really needs that information from the pilot, even if they went in a slightly different direction afterwards. Nice to see that amalgamation.
OKAY OKAY OKAY OKAY I CAVED
I am watching this now. I have everything set up and I will watch it slowly and give everything a chance. Here’s a bullet list after watching the pilot episode:
- I am on the fence about Aidan’s face. I am not sure if I like it or not. It’s… intriguing. I guess this might grow with time.
- But I was a direct fan of Josh! Omtl he is adorable. Perfect. Definitely everything that character is and more. Amazingly well cast.
- Sally is cute so far too, however we don’t see her much in this episode. And she might have been a bit mean [calling people out on masturbating much?!] but her special effects were well done, I think. It’ll be interesting to see. Will the “countries on the same continent” end up being able to touch her? Eeee!
- Bishop! aka Jacob! YAAAY villain! I can’t wait to see more of this!
- I liked how they went with the original pilot idea. At first I was a bit annoyed, asking where the hell the ghost was [ironic “where is my ghost” song much? lol] but then I remembered and all was fine again. The “there is someone in the house”-scene was not nearly as hilarious as in the UK version, though. [“Oh my God can you see me? Can you see me do this?” anyone? ;D]
- That said, it’s technically made in Canada so wiki very nicely calls it “Northern American version”. I’m going to try and stick to that, too.
- Can I just repeat how cute Josh is? Oh man… no competition with George though, he’s also cute, but, yes. Definitely. He looked awesome in that dress. His facial expressions are amazing arghfjdj.
- Yet now it’s his sister and not his fiancée… ok. Well. Curious to see! Eeeee!
- His transformation was not very impressive, actually kind of funny. It might be that Russell is just very, very good at screaming in pain.
- I’m not sure how I feel about the name Aidan. I see that it’s a salute and sort of ode and that’s cool and all, but… It’s really weird! It feels weird!
- How annoying is that new nurse though?
- And Aidan if you’re trying to jump off the wagon then why do you get in a car with Bishop. It makes absolutely zero sense. Tsk, tsk, tsk.
- Sally’s ex creeps me the hell out. Which he probably should, haha.
- So far so good. Nothing I really hate, that is more than I expected, really!
