What I did today

wuh oh. I smell a google translate job.
Teaghlaigh chéad (fada-less laptop over here) = “first families.” or “first households” I.E.: “the first families/households to come to such-and-such place..”
Unless, of course, that’s what the person wanted, but I have a funny feeling they were going for “family first”

When NOT to use Google Translate:

Badum tish a VSO language defies your SVO brain logic.

Basically, im proud of where i come from. Leeds UK. The official logo for Leeds is an owl and it much better than a football badge or some crap saying ‘born in leeds 1991’. Done by Adam Cornish, at Headingley tattoo studio. The antlers are for fun!

MOST AWESOME [and even hipster appropriate!] OFFICIAL ANIMAL EVER AM I RIGHT!
Reblogging because I’m not even from here and I appreciate this. [Although Rotterdam has four lions! Four! Suck it. Gent has only one. Amsterdam has none. Although Amsterdam is very straight edge appropriate which makes me lol so hard I can’t breathe.]

John Embry Tattoos: Food for thought on getting tattooed

johnembrytattoos:

I’ve noticed, in my short time in the industry, the impulsive nature of customers. They’ll walk in gung-ho about some idea that they thought of fifteen minutes beforehand, talk to an artist about where they want it and what size, and then completely change their mind when they hear the estimated…

Totally agreed!

It works with a lot of things in life. If there is something you really want, take your sweet time and save up and make it worth your while. [ESPECIALLY TATTOOS!!]

I’m not saying clothes/items are comparable to tattoos, but it’s definitely worth it to save up and do something right rather than have the cheap satisfaction of something ‘disposable’ that you end up hating or having no use for.

Eiffel Tower done by Josh Anderson at Marc’s Tattooing in Dickson City, PA.
I have a very strong connection to my background, and I was named after my Great Great Great Great Grandfather who was a French pirate captain. I got this to dedicate my love for where my family came from.

I’ve always collected keys. When I was little I used to spend summers in my grandparents old house on an island in the archipelago outside Stockholm and when they sold the house, they gave me all the old big keys from the house. I made necklaces and windchimes of some and kept some. I was always intrigued of what was on the other side of that door. And I always tried to peek through the keyhole.
I got this to remind myself of my childhoods curiosity and also to always know that I can open any door I want. It’s all a matter of finding the right key.
Done by Nick Horn at Good Times Tattoos in Shoreditch, London. Over in less then 2 minutes. Not very challenging for such an amazingly creative artist but means a lot to me.
